100,000 animals spayed and neutered!

We work to reduce the number of unwanted litters and eliminate the euthanasia of abandoned dogs and cats in central North Carolina by enabling affordable spay and neuter surgeries at the Sandhills Spay Neuter Veterinary Clinic.

With the support of our supporters, donors, and grantors, CACF keeps thousands of unwanted animals out of North Carolina’s animal shelters and saves taxpayers hundreds of thousands of dollars. Help us achieve our mission.

Why spay & neuter?

The state of North Carolina ranks third in the euthanasia of unwanted dogs and cats, after California and Texas.

Over 100,000 dogs and cats entered North Carolina animal shelters in 2021. Many were strays at large. 30,000 were euthanized.

We believe sterilization surgery is the most effective and humane way to keep unwanted pets out of the animal shelters.
